A licensed Architect and Certified Passive House Designer, Fernando Alvarez has over 25 years of experience in a broad array of building typologies, with expertise in multifamily high-rise residential and mix use design. His work covers buildings with a range of programming from luxury rental and condominiums to affordable housing and Adaptive Re-use. 

At MAP, Mr. Alvarez is involved in all phases of design and construction, overseeing the Quality Assurance process to ensure the delivery of high-quality projects.

Since joining MAP, he has upgraded the firm’s office standards and has helped to lead the studio, mentoring the technical staff, and strengthening productivity with attention to detail.

Mr. Alvarez led the design teams through construction on Casa Celina and The Rise, and spearheaded MAP’s efforts for the closing of Highbridge, the firm’s most ambitious project to date.

Prior to joining MAP, Mr. Alvarez worked at several large firms and his project experience includes a 50-story rental building at Hudson Yards, a 30-story luxury condominium development in Soho, a 350,000 SF life science/class A office building in Harlem, and a 974-unit rental tower in Court Square.
